Application software
1. Word
2. Internet
3. Powerpoint
4. Email
5. Excel
1. Word is the most important application that students should learn because it teaches them the basics of computers: how to use a computer and how to type. Most school assignments are required to be typed now-a-days, so students really need learn how to use Word at a young age; around the second grade.
2. The next important application students should learn is how to use the internet. This is very important for students to learn because they can use the internet as a refernce tool to help them obtain information for school assignments. There is so much information on the internet that can help kids learn; children should take advantage of it at a young age. I think students should learn how to use the internet by second grade because chances are thet are already using the internet at home, so it is a good idea to teach children how to use it appropriately and efficiently.
3. Powerpoint is another important application that students should learn how to use because powerpoint is very useful to assign to students to do for a project in school. It helps children express what they learned by making a presentation of it and using images. This really benefits children who do not like writing papers. I think it should be taught around third grade because this is the year when children usually are assigned a lot of projects.
4. Email is another important application. By using email, students can communicate with their classmates and teachers, especially if the student is absent one day. It is a very useful tool for students to ask their teacher’s questions about homework and so on. I think students should learn this in third grade because kids should learn this as soon as possible and third graders are at the level where they would be able to comprehend it.
5. The last application that is important for students to learn is Excel. Excel is a very useful program for students to learn, especially in the area of mathematics. I think that students should learn how to use Excel around fourth grade because that is the grade level when students start to learn about calculating averages and the mean of numbers, and excel is very good at assisting children with that.
